Physical Level

WTT's tours involve a lot of walking. There is no better way to see Madrid and Barcelona than on foot. On this escape, you will be expected to:

Carry your luggage up the stairs at some hotels.
Able to walk and stand (be on your feet) for over three hours in diverse weather conditions.
A security and city orientation briefing will be provided upon arrival, and you will need to be able to navigate the streets on your own.

Most tour participants choose to fly into Madrid, but this is entirely up to you. We suggest you arrive at least a day before your escape begins to allow time to acclimate to the time change.

If you would like to book a room before or after your tour, you can find the name of the hotel in your welcome email after paying your deposit. Your online itinerary will be emailed to you one month prior to the start of your tour.

The Plaza is rich in history from executions, weddings, bullfights, tournaments, and burning at the stake by the inquisition, the Plaza is now home to cafes, shops, bars, concerts, art, and many singular events.

Gran Via

(The Great Way) is known for its ornate design and upscale shopping. Commonly referred to as “The Spanish Broadway” it is an extremely popular choice for nightlife in all of Europe. The “street that never sleeps” has theatres, shopping centers, and a display of early 20th century architecture such as: Vienna Secession and Art Deco styles among many others.

Prado Museum

known as the Museo del Prado is considered home of one of the premium art collections in the world. It presents thousands of European paintings, sculptures, and other works of art.

Parque del Retiro

Some would say is the very life of Madrid. It offers cultural leisure, sports, historical, and architectural happenings. It’s most prevalent scenes are the Lake, the Velazquez and Glass palaces, both belonging to the Phillippine Exhibition of 1887.

San Miguel Market

Known as the Mercado de San Miguel is a covered market, built in 1916. The Market is known for its popularity and location in central Madrid. It is within walking distance from Plaza Mayor, and a gourmet tapas market with an abundance of vendors who sell an assortment of authentic foods and drinks.

Morenos in Paris to celebrate a wedding anniversary

We cannot thank and recommend Sam and World Travelers Today enough.
Sam helped plan and execute an amazing family trip to Paris to celebrate our 20th anniversary. He took care of all of our trip details and itinerary (intake call on plans and ‘wants’, flights, hotel, daily schedule, meal reservations, event tickets, security/COVID call prior to departure, contact when planning, and prior to departure, seriously everything). While it was a solid and packed planned schedule, it left time for exploring and taking advantage of anything that might pop up. He provided a great app with our itinerary, reservations/tickets, as well as messaging to stay in contact during our trip.
Our excitement grew leading up to the trip as the plans were finalized and the itinerary was being built out. Once in Paris, the joy and fun in everything happening as planned was just phenomenal. It has been our best family trip so far. We cannot stop talking about it and reminiscing.

What an incredible trip Sam put together for our family! His restaurant and bar recommendations were spot on to get the local flavor mixed with hitting the better tourist destinations.
